International Summary: Smurfs is taking over the world

Unable to be  dethroned, Smurfs ruled again for the fourth straight weekend. While Rise of the the planet of the Apes goes up to number 2, Final Destination 5 falls to third. Pirates of the Caribbean 4 reached its final milestone at $800.5 million and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 continues its staggering run at $937 million.

The Smurfs raked in an estimate 23.3 million from 71 markets, with openings in East Africa, Middle East(Lebanon, UAE, and etc.), and Scandinavia(Denmark, Finland, and etc). Its top new territory was the United Arab Emirates, where it opened to a massive $1.85 million. The movie's foreign total now stands at $295.8 million. Expect it to gross $495 worldwide.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes scored an estimated $19.3 million from 52 markets, including a strong $5.25 million debut in Mexico. It also held extremely well in Brazil (down 14 percent to $3.1 million) and France (off 33 percent to $2.3 million). The prequel's overseas cume reached $185.1 million, and, on Sunday, it passed the Planet of the Apes remake's $182.2 million. However, attendance is still much lowers. With openings in Italy and Japan,  expect it to gross $405 million worldwide.

Final Destination 5
grossed $18.7 million from 35 territories for a international total of $58.3 million. It had a decent $4.7 million no 1 start in France, while holding the top spot again in Russia with $3.6 million. However, the movie had a awful debut in Australia where its raked in $1 million--down 150% from its predecessor. With a poor $100 million total, its is still expected to be released in South Korea. Look for it to gross at $150 million.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2
grossed an estimated $5.5 million over the weakend, bringing its overseas total to a massive $937 million, moving its worldwide total to $1.311 billion. While making it the third movie in history to reach that milestone and second movie of the 21st century to pass that mark, behind Avatar. Final gross-- $1.326 billion.
